Develop Craft Ayrshire was developed to create new opportunities for audiences in Ayrshire and Arran to see high quality contemporary crafts and to raise public understanding of the innovation, skill and time which goes into creating craft objects, contributing to an increase in public appreciation of the art form.

Develop Craft Ayrshire is a three year project (August 2003-2006) to promote contemporary crafts of quality in Ayrshire and Arran.  The initiative is the result of a partnership between North, South and East Ayrshire Councils, European Regional Development Fund and Argyll and the Islands Enterprise. The project also receives funding from the Crafts Department of the Scottish Arts Council.
