What does the Carers Centre
do for Carers?
The Carers
Centre offers information, support and training opportunities to all
carers throughout East Ayrshire. The Centre also aims to provide a focal
point for gathering the views of carers, thus enabling them to speak with
a uinified voice when consulted by statutory bodies such as the Council or
the Health Board.
In addition,
the Centre also provides the following:

A Young
Carers Group:
Social events, information, training and development for young people
with a caring responsibility

Drop in
Facility: One
to one support and advice available

Social
Activities:
Cheese and wine parties, 'Pamper Yourself Days', lunches, coffee
mornings, to name just a few!

Training:
Specific training events to help carers in their everyday lives;
personal development and confidence building sessions; and vocational
skills training to enable carers to access employment

Information
Days: We are
happy to give presentations to other groups and organisations

Meeting
Room for established Support Groups: Groups
using the Centre to date include Autism and Downs Syndrome support for
carers

Bi-monthly
newsletters: Providing
information on all forthcoming events in the Centre
